What is Art Therapy?
Art therapy offers a space to explore feelings and experiences through a variety of materials, such as paint, clay, ink, collage and sandtray.
It might help to think of this as mark-making rather than art-making. There is no need for artistic skill or previous experience. It’s about experimenting, exploring, and finding your own way to express whatever comes up, without pressure to create something visually pleasing.
Equally there is room for self-discovery away from traditional art materials. I love to use cards, small objects, and objects from nature to guide sessions and inspire thinking.
